Phinity Labs Emerges From Stealth With $5.2 Million Seed
Gunderson Dettmer represented Phinity Labs in its emergence from stealth mode and concurrent $5.2 million seed financing. The round was led by Uncork Capital with participation from Moxxie and angels including Jeff Dean, following a pre-seed led by Pear through PearX.
Phinity’s mission is to build fully autonomous chip design so AI can help search beyond the limits of human engineering and discover new computational systems. The company will use the new funding to build the infrastructure for a closed-loop system where agents can design, evaluate, and revise computational systems using real physical feedback, from architecture discovery through tape out.
“We founded Phinity because we believe the way we design chips has to change if we want to keep pushing the frontier,” said Phinity Labs co-founders Sonya Jin and Aadi Nashikkar, in the announcement of the transaction. “We're building towards a future where we can explore computational systems beyond the reach of human search. We'll be able to discover entirely new architectures and turn them into the silicon that powers the next generation of intelligence.”
The Gunderson deal team was led by Damon Zhangchai and included Mark Mabry.
